Making a Home in Michigan
Posted on 16. Jun, 2010 by April in Thailand
Last Monday, we drove up to Western Michigan.
A week later, Jason had a job and we moved into an apartment.
It all happened so fast!! We are so thankful!!
This area is so beautiful. We are about 20 minutes from Lake Michigan, and 25 minutes from Grand Rapids. The towns around here are cute and well kept up, and there are lots of berry farms and farmers’ markets nearby. And there are a lot of community events happening all the time. Last week we caught an outdoor concert and enjoyed listening to the music, feeling the soft grass with our toes, and watching little kids twirl around in front of the stage.
We are planning to get all our furnishings over the weekend and will finish putting our place together. Meanwhile, I’m looking for work in the area and we’re looking for a church. And once our place is furnished, we’ll be open for visitors!
Thanks for your prayers! We have been blessed so much!

Looking for a church? Two words: Mars Hill. One of the things I miss most about living in West MI!

I’ve been stalking around waiting for a new post since being back! I’m so excited for you guys about how things seem to be coming into place. Wish we could be there to share the joy with you, though…

I agree with Laura. I’d move to Grand Rapids just to be able to go there every week!

Mars Hill! that sounds exciting. Enjoyed seeing the town and walking around with you. We will be praying for that Job and that church that is perfect for both of you. Look forward to seeing both of you.
