Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day

We had two major things working against us: One, it was on the same day as Chinese New Year, a widely celebrated holiday in Thailand; Two, many Ramkhamhaeng University students had exams that day. Still, our Valentine’s Day event was a success. :)

As another “foreign” holiday that draws interest, Our Home Chapel has taken Valentine’s Day as a time to invite people to a special event and tell them about God’s love. This year we kept it pretty simple- a game, regular service, lunch, and another game. Our first game was to fill in a week-long calendar with different people’s names, and later find those same people and get three prayer requests from them to remember during the week. After a special lunch, we did jigsaw puzzles in teams while answering quiz questions. The questions asked people to identify love songs, movies, or things like that. We also had a contest for people to submit their ideas of the meaning of love. Winners of these events got certificates for ice cream! One brave student from OHSC even sang a song.

Everyone had a good time, and it was especially nice to see the new faces that we were able to bring in, even though we had those other factors working against us. New people got connected to church members, and hopefully they will come again.
Enjoy the pictures!

What did you do for Valentine’s Day?
