What do YOU want to know?

Happy New Year!
It’s hard to believe that 2009 is over. The year was full of so many firsts for us, many of which we’ve enjoyed sharing with you on our blog. Things like our first Thai meal, our first week in Thailand, and our first month in Thailand. We’ve also tried to give you a picture of the ministry we’re up to on a regular basis (like English Clinic and teaching English). Our biggest outreach of the year was definitely English Camp which required a lot of preparation as well. It was one of many chances Jason has had to make a video to help out the church and other ministries. Finally, we’ve introduced you to several aspects of living in Bangkok, like public transportation, spiritual beliefs, and of course, food.
But we’ve been here for 8 months now, and the newness has worn off. Things that were so different when we first arrived don’t phase us anymore. However, if you were here I’m sure you’d be pointing them out to us, and we’d say, “oh yeah, I forgot that was unusual.”
Well, since you can’t all come visit us to share our life that way, how about some questions…
What do you want to know about Thailand, or our life here?
What have we forgotten to tell you? We know you have questions, and we’d be more than happy to answer and share with others who are wondering.
I’ll ask one to get things started… “What time is it there?”
We are currently 12 hours ahead of EST. So, we were shouting “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” when it was only noon in New York City.
So fire away… what else do you want to know?

Am i allowed to ask the question that’s foremost on my mind?
When do we get to see you and hang out with you again?

Yes, you’re allowed to ask that
We’re just working on booking our tickets. We will probably get back to the States sometime the first week of May- most likely to Michigan first (seeing as our car and most of our stuff is there) and then we’ll make our way around to seeing everyone

I want a link to hear the voices of children singing Thai christian songs- maybe even video. Some adult church singing as well.

You might have already talked about this but what are the most expensive things to buy there? What is so inexpensive that you almost giggle each time you buy it knowing that we are paying so much more over here…

What was your biggest misconception prior to being in Thailand that has changed after living there for 6+ months? Maybe a better way to ask the question is which views of yours have changed in the last 6 months?

Well, naturally, the “Queen of Questions” has to weigh in here. And, naturally, I have more than one question. The first is, at this point, what would you say the greatest fruits of your ministry there have been? Perhaps another way to word that would be, how has God confirmed your calling to that place for this time? And the second is, do you have a sense for how God is growing His church in Thailand? Is the Spirit moving more in certain people groups, age groups, or geographical areas of the country? OK, I guess that’s enough questions from me.

Of course, I too have questions. What would you say were the times you most felt ‘in step or in connection’ with God personally as well as with God’s ongoing work in Thailand? What would you say were the times you felt least ‘in step or in connection” with God ?
Do you think you will make any short or long-term lifestyle changes as a result of your year in Thailand? If yes, what & why?
