Helping Baby Olive

Helping Baby Olive

This morning we had a chance to meet a little baby I’ve been reading about for the past few months- Olive Hope Polinder.

Rusty and Lynette Polinder have been serving as missionaries with the Akha in Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand (Lynette’s actually from Goshen, IN- small world!). On September 25, their first baby was born 12 weeks early. Because she was so premature, she has had a host of medical complications over the course of the past two and a half months. Her first month was spent at the hospital in Chiang Rai, but since then she has been in Bangkok with her parents where she can get even better medical attention.

Today, Jason was able to give up some of his A+ blood to help her out. It was neat to meet the whole family and to be able to do something small to help.

If you’d like to know more about little Olive, check out the Polinders’ blog or visit their Causes page on Facebook. You can also click here if you would like to give to the Olive Hope Care Fund via PayPal.

What Olive really needs is prayer. The immediate concern is for her hydrocephalus to resolve on its own so that a shunt will not have to be put in.

Please pray for Olive and her family.
